Grow Tree, Grow!

1 A new 16 x 20 inches canvas with 300 dpi is created and the sketch is placed on the canvas

2 Ctrl + Shift + N and a new layer is created so that I wont be painting directly on the sketch

3 The brush of choice is selected and I chose oil medium to large tip brush in wet media category
4 Create a new layer to paint for a different colour


6 Select the layers, pressing Ctrl + G to group the layers

For numbers 7- 19, the previous steps are repeated for other parts of the sketches

20 Right click on a group, select group properties and rename the groups for convenience. The same is done for other groups

 21 ctrl + alt + shift + E merge all the visible layers

 22 Then, I clicked "filter" > "distort" > "twirl"

 23 angle selected : 44

24 This is how it looks like after it has been "twirled"

 25 Then I clicked "filter" > "artistic" > "poster edges"

 26 Edge thickness: 9, Edge intensity: 4, Posterization : 4

27 Final Product of Grow Tree, Grow!
